Phosphorbronze

Phosphorbronze (CuSn6 and CuSn8) is characterized by the alloy’s fine material structure. Because of this fine material structure very high mechanical properties will be reached. The phosphor present in the material binds to the copper, which makes that the material hardly reacts with oxygen and it also raises the wear resistance of the material. Phosphor bronzes are exclusively available in extruded or drawn shapes.

Specific characteristics of phosphor bronzes are:

  • Very high wear resistance
  • Very high strain level
  • Corrosion and seawater proof 
  • Good heat conductivity
  • Suitable for applications operating at high temperatures

Due to the fine material structure and the absence of heavy metals like lead and zinc, phosphor bronze is suitable for application in the food processing industry. It is also used for springs and big glide planes.

We supply phosphor bronze from stock in round bars, squares, rectangles and sheets. Tubes can be supplied from our manufacturer’s stock. Please refer to the program hereunder for a complete overview.
